REMINDER: This switch is only to be used to control lights (except ballasts or any lights connected to a transformer). Do not use the switches on outlets, fans, or any other inductive load.
This is the digital setup instructions for the Red Series Smart 2-1 Switch (On/Off or Dimmer) on the Hubitat platform.

Quick Setup Instructions
Follow these if you have already installed the 2-1 switch before and are just looking for some quick pairing instructions. If this is your first time installing the 2-1 switch, please skip this section and work your way through the various sections below starting with the Prerequisites.
This section assumes the following:
You’ve installed the Device Driver
You’ve wired the switch and it works manually
Inclusion (Pairing)
Make sure your switch LED is lit up blue
Open up your Hubitat Web App and click on the, “Devices” tab
Click, “Add Device”
Then under, "Add device manually:", click on, "Z-Wave"
Click on, "Start Z-Wave Inclusion"
Tap on the config/favorites button three (3) times until the LED Bar starts to pulse blue as shown in the Video Demonstration
Hubitat should then search for, find and let you know that a device was added
Feel free to label the device and, if applicable, add it to a room

Exclusion (Removal) & Factory Resetting
Occasionally, you may run into an issue where your switch isn't pairing and needs to be excluded and/or factory reset. To do this, please follow the instructions below:
Exclusion (Removal)
An exclusion will factory reset your switch. To perform an exclusion, please follow these instructions:
Open up your Hubitat Web App and click on the, "Devices" tab
Click, "Add Device"
Then under, "Add device manually:", click on, "Z-Wave"
Click on, "Start Z-Wave Exclusion"
Tap on the config/favorites button three (3) times until the LED Bar starts to pulse blue as shown in the video demonstration
Hubitat should then exclude your device and the LED Bar should turn green letting you know it was successful (red if unsuccessful)

Factory Reset
A factory reset should be used only if an exclusion is not working or a Z-Wave hub is not present. To factory reset your Red Series 2-1 Switch (VZW31-SN), hold down on the top of the paddle and the config / favorites button for 20 seconds until the LED Bar turns red and let go as shown in the Video Demonstration below.

Prerequisites
The only prerequisite to pairing this switch is the following:
Installation of the Device Driver
While this switch will also pair without it, for full functionality, you’ll want to install the Device Driver.
Device Driver Installation
To install the Device Driver, please follow the instructions below:
Open up your Hubitat web app and click on, "Drivers Code" in the menu (you may have to click on, "Advanced" if you don't see this option)
Click on, "+ New Driver"
Click on, "Import" and a box should appear that says, "Import Code from Website" and it will ask you for a URL
Paste the following URL (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/InovelliUSA/Hubitat/master/Drivers/inovelli-dimmer-red-series-vzw31-sn.src/inovelli-dimmer-red-series-vzw31-sn.groovy) into the section titled, "Insert URL to Import Text into Code Editor" and click, "Import" (followed by, "OK" when asked if you want to override the text in the editor)
Click, "Save"
Now when you pair your switch, it should automatically pick up the Device Driver. Feel free to move onto the next section of the Setup Instructions below.
Installation Instructions
Before setting up your switch within Hubitat, you will have to manually install your switch in the wall and have it powered up. In order to do that, you (or your licensed electrician) will need to follow our Wiring Instructions which can be found below:
Pairing Instructions
The below instructions assume you have installed the Device Driver prior to pairing.
Please follow the instructions below to include/pair your Red Series 2-1 Switch
Open your Hubitat Web App and go to the, "Devices" tab
Press the (+ Add Device) button at the top right of the screen
Under, "Add device manually:", click on, “Z-Wave”
Click on, "Start Z-Wave Inclusion"
While your Hubitat hub is scanning, press the configuration/favorites button three (3) times as shown in the GIF below
Hubitat will continue to search for your Inovelli switch and, if successful, will let you know that the device was found and ultimately added
You can change the name of your switch by clicking where it says, "Label this device" and then clicking, "Save"
To view your device and change any of the parameters, click on, "View device details"
Once your switch is successfully paired, check to make sure you have basic functionality of your switch by turning it on/off.
If you'd like to change your switch to a dimmer switch or need to program it to work in a multi-way setup, please move on to the, "Switch Configuration" section below.
Switch Configuration
In this section, we will help you change your switch mode (ie: On/Off or Dimmer) and type (Single-Pole, 3-Way Aux, 3-Way Dumb/Existing).
If you are trying to setup your switch in Smart Bulb Mode, please still select the Switch Mode and Type from the below instructions, and then follow the directions to setup Smart Bulb Mode
Switch Mode (On/Off or Dimmer)
To change your Red Series 2-1 switch from an On/Off to a Dimmer or vice versa in Hubitat, please follow the instructions below:
Open your Hubitat Web App and go to the, "Devices" tab
Find your Red Series 2-1 Switch and click on it
Scroll down to where it says, "Preferences" and find, "158. Switch Mode"
Click on, "158. Switch Mode" and select either, "On/Off (default)" or "Dimmer". Then, scroll down to where it says, "Save Preferences" and click on it.
Test your switch to make sure the setting applied
Switch Type (Single-Pole, Multi-Way Aux/Dumb)
To program your Red Series 2-1 switch to operate in a Single-Pole, Multi-Way Aux, Multi-Way Dumb, or Full Sine Mode in Hubitat, please follow the instructions below:
Open your Hubitat Web App and go to the, "Devices" tab
Find your Red Series 2-1 Switch and click on it
Scroll down to where it says, "Preferences" and find, "22. Aux Switch Type"
Click on, "22. Aux Switch Type" and select either, "No Aux (default)", "Dumb 3-Way Switch", "Smart Aux Switch" or "No Aux Full Wave (On/Off only)". Then, scroll down to where it says, "Save Preferences" and click on it.
NOTE: Full-Sine Mode is only available if your switch is wired as a Single-Pole and has a Neutral wire.
Test your switch to make sure the setting applied
Advanced Feature Setup
This switch is packed with features and most of them come directly from this community. They've been debated back and forth, added to wishlists, and talked about over the course of 4+ years.
Below we will provide a link to all the parameters and show you how to change them from within Hubitat and then we'll go into some of the advanced features and explain how to set them up in Hubitat.
Parameter Explanations
You will need to install a Device Driver prior to accessing any of these features from within the app. Instructions can be found here: Edge Driver Installation
A parameter is a setting within the switch firmware that allows you to change how the switch operates. For example, you want to change how fast your lights dim on and off, the color of the LED bar, minimum dimming level and much more -- all with a few clicks within the app.
To find all the parameters, please follow these steps:
Open your Hubitat Web App and go to the, "Devices" tab
Find your Red Series 2-1 Switch and click on it
Scroll down to where it says, "Preferences" - here is where all the parameters are listed out and can be changed via the drop-downs

Animated Notifications
Animated notifications are used when you want to have a visual cue on your LED bar notify you of a certain event. A few examples would be:
LED Bar pulses purple if your garage door is left open past 9pm
LED Bar chases red if your front door is unlocked
LED Bar fast blinks orange if a door is opened at night time

Scene Control
Scene control, in this context, refers to activating a scene from your light switch via a tap sequence (ie: double-tap, triple-tap, favorites button, etc). This is not to be confused with setting up scenes in your Hubitat app, which is different.

Smart Bulb Mode
Smart Bulb Mode is a special mode that allows you to use your Inovelli smart switch to control smart bulbs. Rather than cutting power to your smart bulbs, Smart Bulb Mode tells the switch to send a digital signal to your bulbs or your hub to turn on/off or dim.
To use Smart Bulb Mode with the Z-Wave light switch and a smart bulb, you'll have to setup multi-tap scenes (ie: Tap up = on, Tap down = off, etc). Please follow the directions in the, "Setting Up Multi-Tap Scene Control • Hubitat" article.
Z-Wave Associations
Z-Wave Associations is when two or more Z-Wave products communicate directly with one another without the need to communicate with a hub. There are two main benefits of utilizing Z-Wave Associations: speed & local control.
From a speed standpoint, cutting out the middle-man (hub) can save precious milliseconds or even seconds depending on your cloud and/or processing power off your hub. Whereas from a local control standpoint, if your hub goes does down and cannot communicate, your products can still talk to each other.
