  1. Single-Pole Full Sine Wave added in 2.10 (Value of 3)

Switch Parameters

Below we'll list out the parameter number, description, range, default value, size, firmware version it was implemented and an example of how to use it.

IF USING A DUMB SWITCH: Parameters 1-2, 5-6 will not work when pressing the dumb switch manually.

NOTE: Third party code may need to be implemented (device handler, driver, etc) for these parameters to work properly. Some hubs may not support these features.

AC Power Type, Switch Mode & Type, Leading/Trailing Edge, Smart Bulb Mode Parameters

AC Power Type is a read only parameter that shows whether or not the switch is in neutral or non-neutral mode.

Switch Mode refers to the switch being in either On/Off or Dimmer mode.

Switch Type refers to the type of wiring installation your switch is in: Single Pole, 3-Way Dumb, 3-Way Aux or Full Sine Wave (FW version 2.11+).

Leading/Trailing Edge refers to the way your switch handles the lights it's controlling. You can switch between each one to get the best compatibility with your bulbs. However, Trailing Edge is only available in neutral single-pole and neutral multi-way with an aux setups.

Smart Bulb Mode is a mode that allows your switch to be used with smart bulbs that are wired to the switch (ie: it locks in full power and sends digital signals to the hub to turn on/off/dim the smart bulb rather than cutting power to the bulb).

Parameter 21 - AC Power Type (READ ONLY)

To see whether or not your Blue Series 2-1 Switch is in neutral or non-neutral mode, please look for Parameter 21 in your hubs user interface (NOTE: This is a read only parameter that cannot be changed, so it may not show up on some hub user interfaces such as SmartThings).

Other Parameters

Internal Temperature Monitoring is a feature that monitors the internal temperature of your switch and will work in conjunction with the Overheat Protection parameter to shut off your switch if it becomes too hot.

Overheat Protection shuts off your switch once the threshold of 90°C (194°F) is met and will return to normal once the switch reaches 70°C (158°F).

Switch Delay refers to the delay between when you press the switch and the light turns on. By default, there is a 500ms delay to account for multi-taps (scene control). In other words, the switch does not turn on right away because it's waiting for a potential multi-tap. You can turn this delay off, but you will lose multi-tap control on the paddle (you will still have it on the config/favorites button).

Local Protection refers to whether or not the load of the switch can be controlled via paddle presses (locally). You can set it so the switch is locked from turning on and off from the paddle.

Remote Protection refers to whether or not the load of the switch can be controlled remotely. You can set it so the switch is locked from turning on and off from your hub's app.

One LED Mode will set your switch to mimic our Gen 2 On/Off switch where only the bottom LED (#1) will operate.

Firmware Progress LED refers to the animation that runs during a firmware update. You can choose to keep this animation on or turn it off.

Disable Relay, "Click" Sound refers to disabling the clicking sound of the internal relay.

Double-Tap Up to Max refers to enabling double-tapping up on the paddle and having the switch turn on to 100% instantly.

Double-Tap Down to Min refers to enabling double-tapping down on the paddle and having the switch turn down to 1% instantly.

Double-Tap Up to Level allows you to set the specific dim level for when you double-tap on the up paddle.

Double-Tap Down to Level allows you to set the specific dim level for when you double-tap on the down paddle.

Non-Neutral Output allows you to increase the power output in non-neutral mode. By default the switch throttles the power output in non-neutral to prevent flickering. If you experience flickering when turning this feature on, adjust Parameter 10 (Max Dim Level).

LED Bar Scaling allows you to match the scaling of any Gen 2 switches you have.

Aux Switch Unique Scenes allows you to have different scenes at the aux switch then you do at the smart switch. In other words, you can create a double-tap scene on the aux switch that is different than the double-tap scene on the smart switch.

Binding Default Level allows you to match the default level parameter (Parameter 13 & 14) when using Zigbee Bindings.

Clear Notifications by Double-Tapping the Config/Favorites Button allows you to turn on or off the ability to double-tap the config/favorites button to clear active notifications.

Parameter 25 - Non-Neutral Output

To adjust the voltage output in non-neutral mode for your Blue Series 2-1 Switch, you'll want to adjust Parameter 25. By default, the switch throttles the output of the load in non-neutral mode so that it can effectively communicate with the aux switch (if needed) and/or minimize flickering. When the output is at its maximum, all the power to the switch is taken away by the bulb, which leads to signal instability, bulb flickering and can cause the switch to continuously reboot. You can remove this throttle and test the instability if you want your bulbs to be brighter by setting the value to 1. The default is 0, which puts the throttle on the switch.

NOTE: If you remove the throttle and experience flickering, you can change Parameter 10 (Max Dim Level) until the flickering stops.

Parameter 32 - Internal Temperature Monitoring (READ ONLY)

Your switch has a built in temperature sensor on its Zigbee chipset that will monitor the internal temperature of the Blue Series 2-1 switch. This will work in conjunction with Parameter 33 (Overheat Protection) in that it will shut off the switch if the internal temperature reaches 90°C (194°F) and will return to normal once the switch reaches 70°C (158°F). This is a read only parameter so there is no default.

Parameter 33 - Overheat Protection (READ ONLY)

Your Blue Series 2-1 switch has built a in overheating protection feature that will shut off the switch if it becomes too hot. When Parameter 32 (Internal Temperature Monitoring) exceeds 90°C (194°F), the Blue Series 2-1 switch will shut the load off, change to On/Off + Full Sine Mode, disable all functionality (you will not be able to control the switch as all buttons will be disabled) and the LED Bar will slow blink red. This notification cannot be cleared until the switch cools down to 70°C (158°F) at which point the notification can be cleared. Please note, when returning to normal state, the switch will not automatically turn on the load, so if you are utilizing Smart Bulb Mode, you will have to set it up again. This is a read only parameter so there is no default.
